Default Stacking Damage Reduction

What stacks and what doesn't?

People tell me that a full suit of knights/ascelon armor is the same, for damage recution, as one peice, say the boots.

So it seems that the maximum you could stack (ignoring the sheild) is -3 (sup abs) -2 (Boots) = -5 damage/attack.

I was wondering if you had an ascelon/knight helm if it would also stack? The reason I'm asking is because head peices seem to be considered seperatly for what they give you (ie. +1 tactics +1 str). So, would it? Or is the max (w/o sheild) -5 dmg/attack?

Helm is exactly the same. Reduces damage from attacks is seen on all the pieces, no reason why on one it would differ from another.

I would say that is the max, but keep in mind, the damage reduction of ascelon/knight only immplies on the part being hit, lets say: If the enemy hits you on the chest, and u got knight boots, then you wont receive the knight/ascelon damage reduction. The rune ddoesnt mather though, it implies on any part of the body...

At least, thats for as far as i know..

The damage reduction is global, if I were to have the boots on and get hit in the head with firestorm it still has the -2 dmage reduction.

You can also have shields with damage reduction for another -1/-2 (or more?).

Well a knight's helm doesn't really exist, so if you want the "complete" gladiator's look - go for full glad's and an ascalon helm.
Oh and FYI - the 1.5k ascalon helm does NOT have +1 tactics, only the 15k one does.

P.S
Is there any reason in the world why the tactician helmet exists?
it's the exact same thing as gladiator's helmet, but lacking +1 energy..

Has this been proven already? Damage reduction is global no matter where you're hit!?
